Want a Legal DNA test before registering the birth?
In this case, you can bring the forms that the hospital provides (which are what you would produce at the Register Office when registering the child) instead of a birth certificate.
If you don’t bring correct ID
If any one of the test participants fails to bring all of the identification, samples will not be taken and you will be charged £69 for the wasted session.
We cannot go ahead with the session even if you promise to supply the missing item later.
Each test participant MUST provide two forms of identification – one from List 1 and one from List 2 (photocopies will not be accepted):
For clients under 18 years of age, a birth certificate is acceptable if no
All of our tests are available as a legally accredited DNA test. These are typically used in Family Law cases or for immigration. The laboratory we use is accredited by the Ministry of Justice to carry out scientific tests for parentage.
Legal (‘Court Approved’) Tests use exactly the same testing procedure as the less expensive Peace of Mind tests, analysing 16 genetic locations as standard with the same accuracy rates.
However, if the result of the DNA test is going to be submitted as evidence in a court of law, the test needs to be conducted in a way that makes it court admissible. This means, amongst other things, identity verification when the samples are taken.
other forms of identification exist. Phone us if you have any questions about what ID is acceptable to the Court.
We copy your documents and return them to you during the session.
For each test participant we also require two recent passport photographs. This includes children regardless of age.
We have the experience to guide you through the Legal DNA test process from start to finish.
